One of the world’s largest and well-known full service logistics companies uses Wialon GPS tracking platform in pharmaceuticals transportation and warehousing in Sri Lanka to control proper conditioning and cargo safety. The utilization of the warehouse and moving units temperature solutions, implemented by Wialon’s partner KloudiP, has increased the integrity and efficiency of critical supplies deliveries and raised customer service standards.
Temperature-sensitive biologics, highly regulated substances or usual non-prescription medications may require different conditioning regime inside the container. All pharmaceuticals goods are stored and shipped in separate refrigerated cubic boxes. Temperature in each unit is to be controlled independently as end users want to track their own packages conditions.
“Wialon provides detailed real time information on cargo conditions. That allows our client to higher standards of customer services in refrigerated transportation. We have already installed more than 30 hardware units.” – says Sanjeeva Cooray, KloudiP Director.
Every refrigerated unit is equipped with wireless temperature and humidity detectors. Pointer Cellocator devices, among them Cellotrack Nano, collect data from these detectors on temperature and box opening and sent it to trackers to register and prevent any critical deviations. Combined with the new Nano, the less standard solution uses the GPS controller and is able to connect up-to 16 Bluetooth sensors. That allowed to cut installation costs by simply avoiding long cables in the vehicles.
As temperature requirements may differ depending on the type of perishable goods, each section conditions range is monitored independently. GPS tracking software gives a convenient visualization of all collected data for proper monitoring. Moreover, individual cargo owners are given access to the system, so they can monitor their personal products and get direct notifications and alerts. This increased reliability of the service as customers appreciate the opportunity to track the consignment status.
Sometimes boxes slip or drop during transportation. That may result in a refrigerated unit accidental opening. To avoid that kind of situations, instant dropped and opened boxes detection was installed. The system also helps drivers to ensure proper closing of the box after unloading and take fast actions for cargo safety and efficient delivery.
The worldwide operating company is focused on competitive edge. That means reputation and profit over savings. Professionals know, savings may result in great losses if provider fails to meet their requirements. According to this, the implementation of GPS tracking service was needed. So, Wialon provided the monitoring system to reduce all the risks and meet the requirements.
The system is now being tested in a Singapore office and definitely outperforms the one used before. It offers a more user-friendly interface and gives actual status of materials to ensure proper temperature control.
