Shipping conditions

Sometimes cargo transportation needs the “delicate adjustment”. It is fair for special goods and food shipments. This type of asset tracker should be advanced enough to work with special built-in or external sensors.

Here are some examples of using asset tracker on the highest technology level:

  • Temperature sensors are essential parts of many different GPS units. It can be used for food tracking (meat, fish and drinks) when the inner temperature must not be too high or low. Accuracy of measurement may vary from 1 to 5 degrees and depends on the quality of trackers and sensors.
  • Humidity sensors are another frequent device that can be connected with GPS tracking during food shipments. It also can be used for the transportation of building supplies and other materials (paper, carton, etc.) that may be spoiled because of excessive or insufficient humidity. It is quite actual for maritime transportation.
  • Luminance sensors are more rare devices. They are used sometimes for very special shipments, like exclusive sorts of wine or, for example, transportation of high-art objects.
  • Shake sensors. Such sensors are often built in a tracker. An accelerometer detects any kind of jolting. Manager can see how accurate a courier was during his mission. It is important for fragile parcels and drink shipments.
  • Power cut sensors are also popular when we talk about reefer’s transportations of perishables, when the power-down caused spoilage. It is also important during portages of appliance that can’t stop its work (for example, special laboratory scale apparatus).
